MEMBER PRIVACY POLICY

IBEW Local Union 712 Federal Credit Union recognizes the importance of the confidential nature of the information it must maintain for its membership. The management and board of directors have developed procedures that ensure the credit union’s compliance with this Policy. This is designed to protect our member’s information, and guard their membership from harm or inconvenience. This policy was unanimously approved at a regular board meeting on April 18,2001.

Types of Information Collected. At IBEW Local Union 712 FCU, we collect nonpublic personal numbers. When necessary for billing purposes, your account number and types of accounts held at the information from a variety of sources. From the member, we collect information as a result of transactions, between members and other parties. These transactions include, but are not limited to over-the-counter transactions, share drafts, ATM or debit cards and electronic transactions such as direct deposits.
Types of Information Disclosed. The IBEW LU 712 FCU may disclose nonpublic, personal information about our members. This would include identification information such as name, address and telephone redit union may also be disclosed. At no time will we disclose their Social Security number or any applicable PINs or passwords.

Third Parties to whom we Disclose Information. Examples of organization we are affiliated with and may disclose information to are: CUNA Mutual Insurance Group (our insurance company) and Enterprise Car Rental (for annual car sales). All third parties that we deal with also must enter into a written agreement to abide by our Privacy Policy. Under no circumstances will we give out information to unaffiliated, independent third parties.

Safeguarding Member Information. Only employees and committee members have access to their information. Management and the Supervisory Committee are responsible for the oversight of our Privacy Policy. All employees have read and understand these policies, and are aware that the disciplinary action will be taken for any violation.

Member’s Right to Opt Out. At any time, members have the right to opt out of the credit union’s sharing agreements with third parties. This option covers all third party.

Disclosures and has not termination period.

Exceptions to Opt Out. By law, the credit union may share personal information about members regardless of the member’s decision to opt out. These include, but are not limited to companies that perform transaction processing initiated by the member or by the credit union on the member’s behalf, government agency to comply with legal requirements.
